The ARC Training Centre - Chemical Industries provides an innovative framework for graduate training through sustainable industry engagement with world-leading academic researchers.
ATCI brings together three leading Universities (The University of Melbourne, The University of New South Wales and Swinburne University of Technology), chemical industry companies and Chemistry Australia in a unique collaboration that will provide greater alignment between the chemical industry’s need for highly-skilled STEM graduates equipped with excellent academic training, relevant industry skills and experience.
ATCI will host 30 Masters of Science – Industrial Research (MScIR) students who will complete industry-led research projects to be undertaken with a minimum 1-year placement in industry. The Centre will host Postdoctoral Fellows to lead advanced industry-led collaborative projects with Centre chief investigators.
The Centre will lead to a high-quality workforce with industry relevant skills and experience. Our innovative training and engagement model enhances industry research capabilities through strengthened, and impactful industry university collaborations. ATCI will drive the development of new technology and product pipelines for sustainable growth, and economic benefit to industry.
